Our course
Our vocational course, called “Tourist expert specialising in the demand for niche tourism services and in the mediation between demand and supply” began with a series of lessons about the so called “long tail”, that were held by our teacher, Professor Poli.
With the phrase “niche tourism” we mean an activity aimed at offering an exclusive tourist product so as to fulfil the requirements of a small group of people (target).
As for the phrase “long tail”, it derives from statistics and designates a marketing policy based not on best seller products but on a wide spectrum of minor products, i.e. niche products; at the end this policy should allow us to reach better economic results.
Long tail strategies are becoming more and more important in all economic sectors, therefore also in tourism.
